The erstwhile PAU catered to the requirements of both Punjab and Haryana at that time. Initially, there was one main center at Hisar and a sub-centre at Ludhiana under the project. The HAU came into existence in December, 1970 and PAU was thus left with only one sub-centre at Ludhiana.
